Ok, I didn't get much done the last 2 days and couldn't even blog about it until today. I did get 2 hats done to match the sunsuit. I made them from this post

I am now working on another sunsuit but this time upcycling one of my t-shirts to make it. Should be able to post here and on flickr tomorrow. I love seeing everyone else's work when I go post my pics.

Oh boy! did i get alot done today!!?!! Here is a photo of what I made and this is soley from a pattern I came up with.

Tomorrow I am making a matching sun hat and then making one or two dresses in some cute fabric I got last week.

1st Day of KCWC

well, I didn't get much done in my hour yesterday, came down with a cold Friday night and been sluggish since then. I got the outfit pattern made, cut out and got the bottom sewed up, with facing pieces in the crotch for the snaps. I don't do snap much, so I made a run up to JoAnn's and got some. That's pretty much it for yesterday. Hopefully I get more done today, with the help of Dayquil ;))

New challenge I found

I have been very busy with family matters since my last post. I now have a SIL and a new grandbaby. I found this challenge (look in sidebar, to the left) and I have to try it. I hope I can do alot of cute outfits for her. Here are some I did and already sent to my DD in Virginia.

New Artwork--Miniature

I have been doing some art in miniature form, called ATC's or Artist Trading Cards. For those of you who don't what they are, you can read up on them HERE. They are only 2 1/2" by 3 1/2". Now, on to the photos.

All 3 of these were done with ink and the bottom 2 are done in ink and W/C pencils. I have started trading these cards in a yahoo group. (These 3 are now gone, traded) If you want information on how to trade for any of my cards, email me MY EMAIL Please make sure you mention you are from my blog, when you write.

A New Painting

My newest work:

I had been dabbling in oil pastels but the weather got hot and I had to hide the pastels in the fridge. They melt when it gets hot. I have a few done and will post soon.

This one is done in watercolor pencils and ink on 140# watercolor cold press paper. Original size is 11 x 14. It is the 300 block of Main Street, here in Watertown, WI. I left off the store names because I am not sure about any copyright issues with them, so it's best not to include them. If you want, this one is for sale. $40.00 framed and shipping is extra. I prefer to take PayPal.

2 New Paintings, landscape and pet portrait

Here is my first attempt at doing an animal. Doing fur scared me. lol But, I think that part I did good, I just need to change the overall painting and add more below the neck. I was told this looks like a "floating head". I will change that next time. This one is a 9x12 canvas board done in acrylics.

This is a very cool landscape I did called "Mountain Runoff". I found some videos of Bill Alexander and this is one he did. I love both his and Bob Ross's designs. This one is a 16x20 stretched canvas done in oil paints, in the wet-on-wet style.

Next Oil Painting

This one was my second oil painting. It is 12"x18" stretched canvas and in a friend's collection. I don't feel any I have done can be sold yet. Maybe after I get good at this. Still in the learning stage.

So far, both paintings I have painted are done in the wet-on-wet style of Ross & Alexander. I am learning some other styles, in acrylic. I will post them soon. Please, any comments are welcome.

Candy Bowl Tutorial & Free Images

I will be coming back with a new kit and brag book pages set soon. It's a kit based on duct tape, great for all of those photos of the men & boys.

The tutorial below is to make this bowl. For those of you who want it, you can download the bowl and candy HERE. This zip contains an empty bowl and a full bowl, both as png's.

Candy Bowl Tutorial

Download a zip containing a png of the bowl outline I used HERE and open it.

You do need a working knowledge of psp and need a copy Eye Candy 5 Impact for the glass. I'm sure you can probably try other methods to make the glass. For this tutorial I chose EC 5 Impact

Open the Candy Bowl Outline png, using the magic wand select the inside area. Add a new raster layer.

While on the new layer go to, effects>EC Impact>Glass and select Clear Glass from settings menu. Go over to the next tab marked Basic and check the settings to match mine in the image here. You can play around with the settings, if you want. You can even make the bowl a different glass setting. Your choice. If you make it a dark glass, you might have to lower the layer opacity to see the candy thru the bowl.

Go to select none and then delete the layer with the bowl outline and save this bowl as a new image. Save as a png if you want to stop here or save as a pspimage if you want to fill the bowl.

Filling the bowl basically consists of copying a candy to a layer beneath the bowl layer. Resize to make the candy look proportionally right to the size of the bowl. Duplicate this layer and move the candy over to the side some. Keep duplicating layers and moving until you have enough to make the bowl look full and have some coming out of the top. You may have to turn off the bowl layer to grab the candies to move them. Occasionally turn the bowl layer on to make sure your candies are staying inside the bowl. If you have strays outside the bowl edges, just move them back. When you are done, save first as a pspimage to have it to use later for other projects, maybe filled with different candy. Then merge layers and save as a png to use in your scrap project.

Peppermint Candy Tutorial & Freebie

I don't write tutorials alot but wanted to share this with the group I belong to, so here it is. For those of you who don't feel like trying the tut, HERE is the link to download the bag of candy image below. The zip has the bag of candy in pspimage format, because there is layers in this.

Peppermint Candy

Open a blank canvas 900 x 900, 300 dpi. I like to make mine big then resize
smaller if needed. Download my tut supplies HERE. In the zip is 4 gradients for candy and a pspimage with the 4 circles and a black background, to see the white circles better. If you use mine, delete the black before merging layers.

If you want to make your own circles, do the step below. If you use mine, skip to the next step.

Set foreground to white, background to null, choose shapes tool, make a
circle, holding shift key to keep it's round shape. Make it about 600 pixels
across. Objects>Align>Center of canvas. Duplicate the circle 3 times for a
total of 4, resize each layer by 75% uncheck resize all layers.

Select inside of circle in bottom layer with magic wand, add a new layer and
fill the new layer with the gradient Candy set with Radial at 17 repeats. Select
none and hide circle layer. Do this for the other 3 circles, making sure the fill
layer isn't with the circle as the white circle will throw off the look of a
peppermint candy.

When you have 4 layers all filled, now we do the twirl.
Effects>Distortion>Twirl and set the degrees at 60. Do this to all 4 layers. 2
of the layers need to be rotated so I rotated raster 3 and raster 5
Image>FreeRotate, 20 degrees to the right, make sure the all layers box is
UNchecked. The photo of the layers just shows you which 2 layers I am talking about to do the rotate on.

Merge all 4 candy layers and use EC5 Impact>Glass>Clear default settings. I know it gives you a shadow around the edge but I like this glass looks better than the settings for Clear, No Drop Shadow. You can play with the settings for this.

I had a class to teach today at the local public library. It was a class on making a duct tape wallet or a duct tape purse. 5 students, 3 boys making wallets and 2 girls making purses. I had a blast teaching these kids and in a few days I will be posting a few photos here, from the class. I decided to join the Color Challenge at DSO and see what I could come up with. I wanted to make a "themed" kit that is perfect for scrapping photos of your skater boys/dudes, skater chicks/girls or even your wanna be skaters! Free QP from new kit and my CD album tut

Hi everyone--hope your day is going as great as mine!

First, I want to post my mini tut for making a cd album. Below that will be the preview and link for today's freebie.

1. Print all of your cd pages. I found I could fit 2 to a page and print it as an 8x10. Use Krylon Acrylic clear and spray a light coat over the printing. This will help in the ink not smearing when it gets coated with the Mod Podge. Take a small stack of cds and use masking tape to tape together, so they don't shift when you drill. Drill holes in the cds close to the edge. I made 2 in mine. (see photo)

2. On the backside, hold a cd against the paper and position it inside the edges of the cd print. Hold up to a window or lamp to be able to see the printing from the back.

3. Hold it very carefully and lay it down on a cutting board, without the cd moving. Take an exacto knife and run it around the edge of the cd. It should cut the picture out perfectly. Might have to run the knife twice in some spots.

4. Use stick glue to glue the picture down to the cd. I used stick glue as it left very few wrinkles when dry.

5. After you have all of the pages glued to fron and back of cds, use Mod Podge to coat and seal the paper. I used a toilet paper roll, empty, to keep the cd up in the air til dry. Just take an empty roll and cut it into fourths. Lay a cd down with the paper roll in the middle.

6. After the pages are all sealed with Mod Podge and dry, use book rings to assemble them into an album.

Last 3 pages for CD Album

Here is the link for the last 3 pages of the CD album. These are the ones pictured in the bottom row in the preview. Link is below preview. I did manage to make a cd album but I am undecided as to what to put thru the holes, to hold it together. I tried ribbon but needed the loop to be big for the pages to open. I am going to try book rings. If that works, I will post my directions here for assembling the album.

Also, got a brand new kit, with a brag book set. Check back tomorrow for previews and the first freebie!

Daisy Brag Book Pages--FREEBIE!

Well, I finally got some brag book pages done today. These print up nice at most photo labs. Walgreens did mine and I love them. There is 2 links for the pages, so make sure you grab both. I am still working on the CD pages. I want to print them and put together the album before I release them to everyone. I am a stickler about making sure it works first! lol

Whewwwwww! Finally I got the hang of it and was shown on DigiFree. lol

My First Post

I finally did it and made a blog. I doubt I will customize it much as I don't seem to have the time. I am mainly going to just use it to post links to download my kits. Here is a short list of what is uploaded right now

I will leave these up for quite a long time. I don't like going to blogs and finding out a link has been pulled after a week and I will never do that here. If a download link is broken, it's because RS has deleted my file. Just give me a holler and I will reupload the item you want.
